The HiiiH Tex pocket Endoscope device is tightly packaged into a sleek and light-weight pen-box. Open the flap on either side and slide the white shelf out of its box. The packaging includes a 10cm camera probe with a pre-assembled 6cm black metallic casing. Along with it is a separate 10cm long black metallic casing. In the cylindrical box are two silicone ear speculums, a dental-mirror attachment and a 2 cm black metallic casing. There is a micro-USB charging cable and a manual as well. To get started, install the Hiiih-Tex application from the Play Store or apple store on your phone or tablet. Once installed, click the button on the bottom side of the device till a blue light starts blinking. This means the device is on and the wifi signals from the device are now available for pairing. The light on the endoscope automatically turns on as well. Now, on the application, click the "go to connect" symbol, which will take you to your wifi settings page. Look for any wifi network starting with HiiiH Tex ----- and select it. Once selected, your wifi settings page will show that the wifi is now connected. Once this step is done, go back and re-open the HiiiH Tex app, and you will see that the device is connected and Battery Status and Estimated time is now being shown. To start an examination please click on the home symbol which will take you to another screen where the endoscopy image is now visible. You may chose the photo or video option and record the endoscopy. The video will be stored in your device gallery. Please provide necessary permissions to the app from your app settings page to allow this feature. On the top of the screen you can choose two modes of endoscopy. Horizontal - Here the image is autocorrected to remain in the horizontal axis even if the device is rotated in any direction. This makes the device easy to use as the orientation remains static. If you select dynamic, then the image can be rotated in any direction of your choice. These options can be selected only when recording is off. The device in its current version can be used for examination of the ear and oral cavity. To examine the teeth, we recommend fixing the dental-mirror attachment which is made of silicone with an oval mirror, to the tip of the probe. This can now allow 360 degree visualisation of the gums and teeth. The tonsils can also be visualised using this mirror however we do not recommend examination of the throat using this mirror as the size of the mirror is not adequate for throat examinations. To examine the nose, un-screw the pre-attached 6 cm black casing from the probe and replace it with the 2 cm black casing. Now 10 cm length of the probe is available for complete nasal cavity examination. To examine the throat, use a conventional laryngeal mirror (not the one provided with the device) in one hand and the camera in the other. The image of the throat can be seen on the screen through the reflection of the mirror. A standard defogger like savlon can be used on the laryngeal mirror to prevent fogging and give a clear image. To examine the vagina, cervix and rectum, replace the 2 cm black casing with the 10 cm full length black casing. This will allow non-traumatic and smooth insertion for vaginal inspection and anorectal assessments. The black casings are autoclavable. The surface of the Endoscope can be disinfected using our own proprietary 90% isopropyl alcohol wipes. Simply wipe the surface and allow to dry for 30 seconds before next usage. The device and all its components can be stored back into the box and kept safely in a non-humid dry place. Avoid exposure to water and excessive humidity.
Configure the device to the 6 cm black casing. On the HiiiH Tex application set the mode to "Horizontal" and hold the device like a pen using your dominant hand. Have the patient seated with the ear facing you. Gently pull the ear pinna upwards, backwards and laterally using your non-dominant hand. Introduce the probe inside the ear canal with your free middle and ring fingers resting on the TMJ area of the patient. This is to avoid any sudden movement of the probe if the patient makes an unexpected move. Advance gently till the entire ear drum is visible on the screen. If the patient coughs or feels any irritation, immediately withdraw the scope. For added safety you can use the conical silicone ear speculum for adults and the wider shorter ear speculum for children. The speculums can be cleaned using the HiiiH Tex Disinfectant along with the probe.
Configure the device to the 2 cm black casing so that 10 cm of the probe is available for examination. On the HiiiH Tex application set the mode to "Horizontal" and hold the device like a pen using your dominant hand. Have the patient seated with the nose facing you. Ask the pateint to breath gently from the mouth. This is to prevent fogging of the lens during nasal endoscopy. With your non-dominant hand, lift up the tip of the nose using the thumb. Gently position the tip of the camera probe such that the device is parallel to the floor. Ensure that the probe is not ponting upwards in the nasal cavity towards the area between the eyes. Instead adjust the direction of the probe as if it is aligned at the level of the tragus of the ear. Gently advance the endoscope medially and anteriorly along the floor of the nasal cavity, close to the septum and away from the inferior turbinate. Advance gently till the nasopharynx is visualised for adenoids or any eustachian tube anomalies. If the patient expresses pain or discomfort or sneezes immediately retract the probe. Re-attempt after using nasal decongestant drops with 2% xylocaine. If you plan on doing any procedure such as suctioning or nasal packing, make the patient lie down with the head end elevated by 30 degrees and the head turned to the right by 45 degrees. Stand on the right side of the patient and hold the device like a pen with your non -dominant hand. Your dominant hand should be free for instrumentation. Advance the camera along the floor of the nasal cavity while introducing the instrument simultaneously with the dominant hand. After completion of the procedure the device can be gently removed. The probe can be cleaned using the HiiiH Tex Disinfectant wipes.
Configure the device to the 6 cm black casing. On the HiiiH Tex application set the mode to "Horizontal" and hold the device like a pen using your dominant hand. Have the patient seated with the mouth facing you. Ask the patient to open their mouth and gently pass the probe to visualize the incisors, canines and premolars. The undersurface of the teeth can be examined by changing the angle of entry into the oral cavity. For a better visualisation of all the crevices in the gums, buccal cavity and teeth, the silicone dental mirror can be attached to the tip of the probe. The entire oral cavity and oropharynx can be examined, including the tonsils and its crypts. Later border of the tongue and floor of the mouth can also be examined for abnormal growths and openings of the salivary gland ducts. The device can be disinfected using the HiiiH Tex Disinfectant wipes.
Configure the device to the 6 cm black casing. On the HiiiH Tex application set the mode to "Horizontal" and hold the device like a pen using your dominant hand. Have the patient seated with the mouth facing you. Take a standard laryngeal mirror available in the market. Wipe the surface of the laryngeal mirror using savlon which acts as a defogging agent. Spray 10% lignocaine or xylocaine on the throat to temporarily prevent a gag reflex. Wear a head light with adequate light for an indirect laryngoscopy. With the patient's mouth wide open pass the laryngeal mirror into the oropharynx using the left hand until the vocal cords are visualised. Once visualised in the mirror, introduce the Endoscope into the mouth and place it 2 cms away from the mirror. A magnified view of the throat from the mirror will be captured by the camera which can be used for examination purposes. Once the examination is complete, inform the pateint to avoid drinking water for 10 mins. They should be asked to start small sips of water after 10 mins and if there is any cough, then to wait for another 5 mins and retry drinking small sips of water untill there is no coughing. The device and mirror can be disinfected using the HiiiH Tex Disinfectant wipes.
There are two reasons why this may happen. First, the button may have lost its internal alignment causing loss of clicking sound when pressing the button. This happens when the casings are interchanged too frequently or aggressively causing the button to lose its internal alignment. This can be solved by re-aligning the external casing of the device. Simply rotate the external casing until the charging port is perpendicular to the button. Try clicking the button again and the device should turn on. If the button is aligned and a click can be heard and the device is still not turning on, then connect the device to the charger using the micro USB cable provided. If the blue light turns to red then it means the device is charging. Allow charging to take place for 10 mins and restart the device. If it still does not turn on then it means the second reason of dysfunction has occured which is an electrical malfunction of the internal circuits due to fall or entry of water. In this case please contact this number for advice on replacement of the device. The replacement is free if within the warranty or extended warranty period.
The most common reason for lack of image clarity is deposition of wax or other debris on the surface of the lens. This could be due to inadequate cleaning of the lens surface after previous examination. To clean the lens, take the HiiiH Tex Disinfectant wipes and gently rub the surface of the lens for 10-20 seconds. Allow the probe to dry and switch on the device once again. Repeat this process 3-5 times. If there is no improvement in clarity then it must be due to some internal damage to the lens fibres. Please contact this number for advice on replacement of the device. The replacement is free within the warranty or extended warranty period.
